Building an endurance fundraising program.

Endurance Fundraising: responsibilities of a charity partner.

  • Choose an event.

Little House partners with endurance events in the Greater Tampa Bay Area to facilitate formal Charity Partner Programs. Currently, Little House collaborates with two events: Tampa Bay BABES Sprint Triathlon, and St. Petersburg Distance Classic. Alternative charity partner programs can be found online, partnerships typically finalize 18-6 months prior to event day.

  • Recruit your athletes.

Endurance fundraising hinges on identifying a committed athlete or group of athletes that will dedicate their effort to your cause. Your athlete will likely have a strong personal connection to your mission, and should be excited to broadcast your cause to their entire network as well as solicit donations.

  • Inspire fundraising.

Once an athlete is registered for an event, their focus will shift to training and fundraising. Setting a fundraising goal is very personal to the individual athlete, but the charity should implement a minimum amount. Along the way, the charity must supply the athlete with content, templates, and inspiring stories to help the athlete craft messages for their networks.

  • Celebrate and thank.

The big day of the endurance event should be your athlete’s victory lap. All of their efforts and preparation led to this moment, and now your inspiring cause will fuel their photo finish. Charities should plan to cheer on their athletes, provide moments of celebration and gratitude, and most importantly stay in touch and remain knowledgeable about WHY your athlete chose to represent your cause.
